PALS Renewal and BLS Renewal Combination

This PALS Renewal and BLS Renewal combination course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%.

Who should take this course?

Any advanced provider or student in need of a PALS Renewal and BLS Renewal combination course. Please keep in mind; the student must possess a non-expired BLS certification.

Course Completion e-Card 

• PALS: Students who successfully complete the PALS Course, including the following components, will receive a PALS Provider Course Completion Card, valid for two years:
  • Actively participate in, practice, and complete all learning stations
  • Complete the closed-book written exam with a minimum score of 84%
  • Pass the 1- and 2-Rescuer Child BLS with AED and 1- and 2-Rescuer Infant BLS Skills Tests
  • Pass 2 PALS core case scenarios (1 cardiac and 1 respiratory or shock) as a team leader, providing appropriate medical treatment and demonstrating effective team dynamics
• BLS: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course e-Card will be administered after skills and written examinations have been successfully completed and will be valid for two years.
